TRUE GIVES BACK
Operation Food Search
We believe in more than just keeping food cold—we believe in keeping our communities strong. That’s why through our True Gives Back initiative, we’ve proudly donated a lineup of high-performance refrigeration units to Operation Food Search (OFS), a remarkable nonprofit based in St. Louis.
What is Operation Food Search?
Founded in 1981, OFS is on a mission to end hunger across Missouri and Illinois. Every month, they serve over 200,000 individuals through a network of 330+ partners across 42 counties. OFS operates on 3 main pillars:
1. Meet the Immediate Need: They distribute about $30 million worth of food per year, including out‑of‑school and summer meals, and even mobile grocery services to food deserts.
2. Build Nutrition IQ: Through hands‑on cooking classes, demos, and a new teaching kitchen, OFS empowers families to prepare healthy meals on a budget.
3. Champion Change: Advocating for food‑as.
True Refrigeration’s Impact
At True, we’re inspired by Operation Food Search’s mission and proud to support their efforts by providing purpose-built refrigeration systems that help them serve more people with fresher, safer food.
Our donation of Glass Door Merchandisers (GDM) has expanded OFS’s capacity to store fresh produce, dairy, and proteins safely, significantly reducing spoilage and food waste. These units are also designed for energy efficiency and reliability, using environmentally friendly hydrocarbon refrigerants to deliver consistent temperatures—an essential feature for nonprofits working to maximize every resource. By strengthening OFS’s cold-chain infrastructure, we’re helping ensure that more families, seniors, and children throughout the region receive fresh, healthy meals quickly and efficiently.
“Coolers for our Fresh Rx program is something we have had on our wish list literally for years now! It is so nice to have a dedicated space where we can take that food that’s coming in for the program, put it aside knowing what’s being kept at the perfect temperature, and that we have meal kits ready to go in those coolers when our families come to pick them up.”
